This Italianate style home was built in 1875 by Martin L. Sweet, or so the story goes. He built it as a duplex for two of his daughters (or another story says sons), each side being a mirror of the other. It is said that at one time a tunnel connected this duplex to the family home on Fulton Street.
The building was remodeled and currently boasts 18 studio units. The building is primarily brick and is two-stories in addition to garden level units.
